Blah doodles done a bit ago.

Some sketches of screenshots while watching Harry Potter : the Sorcerer's Stone.

One day I'd like to do storyboarding but I have a long ways to go....

Found some old food photos

Of two things I've made, first the older chocolate crinkle thingies of nom :

 Chocolate Crinkles - think that's the recipe I did, it was a few years ago ^.^;

And some handmade pretzels (HOLY F THESE THINGS ARE HARD TO MAKE, due to all that painful kneading. Ow. Carpal tunnel + kneading = fuck tendons.)

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzel Recipe - these are amazing. I was non-traditional in my pretzel twisting ^.^;

Doing other things.

I've kinda come to the realization that all I was doing was art as a income (which I swore I'd never do ^.^;) and not having enough side projects, my own things to do. So I decided to put some focus and energy in other things, to lessen the burn-out I've been going through as of late.

First and foremost, I do love to cook and I made a small dinner for Thanksgiving considering it was just me, my bf and a friend. I made Cornish Hens (found cheaply by said friend)  and while I stupidly didn't get a good, nice, fancy shot of them on the serving plate here they are fresh outta the oven :

My phone takes crap pictures. Here is the recipe though : Honey Spiced Cornish Hens
Yeah btw, juicy and amazing. Sorry you can see where I cut into one of the bewbs to check on them. I marinaded the crap outta them. Also, our friend not being a friend to wheat gluten, he supplied me with a GF pie crust and I made some pumpkin pie :

MMMMMM! PIIIIEEEEE (best breakfast food too). I did the derpy leaf and spilled some filling on the side for that burn effect on the side lol. Totally intentional. We also, later that week, got more chairs for our place (WOOOT! cheap chairs!) and our cats wasted NO time trying to claim the same one (there are TWO! not like that matters to kitties). Here are Spoof (the siamese) and Mimi (the tabby) :

Lazy kitties. Also have started to crochet again. Oddly enough, the wrist motion is actually *good* for my carpal as long as I pace myself. I got the following colors :

 Yay for clearance section! That brown is far more honey-ish IRL, owing I could not find a bronze for the blue. Also, that yellow is more gold. To go with the scarlet. I'm making my bf and a friend Ravenclaw scarves and myself a Gryffindor one. While fun and great to do with Star Trek on, I must maintain constant vigilance as the furry string-eaters are always watching for an opening. Really. I've had to do some chasing already!

Oh and those cross-stitch pillows were made for me by Mom. She knows I like lions :D

Kitten!

Me to Friend : Suggest something for me to draw. (Expecting something HP related)
Friend : kitten!
Me : ok then.

And she loves me for being silly and weird, so did she really suspect I'd draw some derpy fuzzbucket kitten with sunflowers? Probably not. Sphinx kitten FTW! (And I totally forgot the URL for the reference source image, my bad....!)

And I draw elves, too...

Something quick and no real effort into making it look like the source image. Lazy outfit is lazy.

Blond Elves. Pffft. Yeah.

A little rest.

After all teh emotional...everything of the past...long, long while the weather's icky coldness has made me think it's time for a day off. Well, I plan on taking the week 'off' from other projects and doing jsut art works for myself, intent to bring back into my life 'arting for me'.

Sadly after a heavy conversation yesterday (good, though) I'm feeling a tad more under weather than I'd like to sit at the computer for a few hours, so I set about making myself something nice and perfect for a blustery day spent on the couch with blankets.

I live on a very restricted food budget, but I enjoy finding little ways of making just a handful of cheap ingredients taste like gourmet cooking. I bought a big pack of chicken soup ramen noodles, and have made myself a little broth that tastes amazing. I simply simmered some mushrooms and spinach in the soup base + a little extra stock, some added spices like parsley, thyme and ground pepper and found a packet of onion/oils from another instant noodle package I had used the noddles for already. 10mins of simmering, do the ramen noodles in it once the mushrooms have soaked up some flavor and voila! Nice and brothy, not too salty either. Perfect and delicious if I say so myself, I must make this for my friends sometime and show them that eating cheap can be awesome.

Anywho, soup, some Sherlock Holmes, and resting with a fluffy blanket. Back to exercise and arting tomorrow.

Another Art-block doodle, this one just got more intense than the last and pushed my surrealism unfamiliarity. Still anthro, but with a dark bend. I used a color palate from Kuler, and some refs from google :

Here's a detail :
photoshoooppuuuuuu cs3 I think, oi I am lazy when it comes to choosing and using new brushes.

Nico, Nico, Nami

Art-block doodles, again, playing with opacity in brushes and color palates from Kuler.

Nico Robin (dark hair) and pal Nami from One Piece. Yes I watch that anime. Yes it's long, I'm on like episode 394 or something, and still watching. Go me and my free time of doom.

Wasn't supposed to be Alan Rickman but...

I kinda ended up looking off a photo of him for reference anyway. Another art-block doodle.

First of the art block doodles

Doodle of Catwoman, ala Batman : The Animated Series. Oh and I like the color orange.
