I've kinda come to the realization that all I was doing was art as a income (which I swore I'd never do ^.^;) and not having enough side projects, my own things to do. So I decided to put some focus and energy in other things, to lessen the burn-out I've been going through as of late.
First and foremost, I do love to cook and I made a small dinner for Thanksgiving considering it was just me, my bf and a friend. I made Cornish Hens (found cheaply by said friend) and while I stupidly didn't get a good, nice, fancy shot of them on the serving plate here they are fresh outta the oven :
My phone takes crap pictures. Here is the recipe though :
Honey Spiced Cornish Hens
Yeah btw, juicy and amazing. Sorry you can see where I cut into one of the bewbs to check on them. I marinaded the crap outta them. Also, our friend not being a friend to wheat gluten, he supplied me with a GF pie crust and I made some pumpkin pie :
MMMMMM! PIIIIEEEEE (best breakfast food too). I did the derpy leaf and spilled some filling on the side for that burn effect on the side lol. Totally intentional. We also, later that week, got more chairs for our place (WOOOT! cheap chairs!) and our cats wasted NO time trying to claim the same one (there are TWO! not like that matters to kitties). Here are Spoof (the siamese) and Mimi (the tabby) :
Lazy kitties. Also have started to crochet again. Oddly enough, the wrist motion is actually *good* for my carpal as long as I pace myself. I got the following colors :
Yay for clearance section! That brown is far more honey-ish IRL, owing I could not find a bronze for the blue. Also, that yellow is more gold. To go with the scarlet. I'm making my bf and a friend Ravenclaw scarves and myself a Gryffindor one. While fun and great to do with Star Trek on, I must maintain constant vigilance as the furry string-eaters are always watching for an opening. Really. I've had to do some chasing already!
Oh and those cross-stitch pillows were made for me by Mom. She knows I like lions :D
